Fitting front mudflaps 200tdi?

Got these front mudflap brackets for my defender, went to fit them today but can't figure out where they mount to. I thought they would be drilled through to the outrigger but they don't sit the mudflaps straight if they went that way.

It's a newer chassis but still 200tdi, am I missing some kind of other bracket here?

And looking at other chassis's it looks as though my outriggers are different, they don't taper up. Anyone know any other type of bracket I could use?

I didn't do metal work in my GCSE's

A home made outrigger, looks a strong job.You could fix flap between inner wing and bulkhead/footwell and keep the crud off footwell and outrigger.
