Fitting fog lamps

Hi all

This has probably been asked before and if so apologies for missing any previous posts.

I'm thinking of fitting some fog lamps in the lower grille on my FL1 (beneath the number plate) and upon checking I have wiring in the blank above the rear fog lamp switch which I assume is for front fog lamps. I can probably source a switch from a scrappy and plug straight in but then comes the issue.....

Where do I find the positive feed to the lamps? I assume I have to tap into one of the fuse boxes but I have no idea where to look.

Of course I could wire in a seperate aftermarket switch but I wanted the Land Rover switch so every thing in the cabin looks factory fitted and also for ease of use when driving. Plus when money allows (that may take some time) I don't want to use up any blank switch locations as I may well need them for other things in future.

I'm probably opening up a can of worms for myself if the live feed comes from the cabin fusebox (threading wire through the bulkhead etc) but I do a lot of rural driving by the coast and on the moors so fog lamps are pretty much needed and any adice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks folks

The fuse box should have the spaces for the fog lamp relays, already wired to the switch.
You'll likely need to run the wiring from the fuse box to the lamps.

Cheers Nodge. I just need to work out where the relay is supposed to be, what relay to get, and where to hook up the live wire to in the fusebox.

I've had a few on FB groups say "Oh just put a switch in from a relay kit" but realisticly the factory wiring is there above the rear lamp switch (behind the blank) and it just seems right to have it set up as it should be.

It's that one elusive live feed to the lamps I'm struggling to find out about. Once I find where that is the rest is plug and play I guess.

Incidentally Nodge I finally got around to fitting a pair of 4" LED driving lamps. Small enough to be subtle yet powerful enough to make a Corsa driver turn his beams off lol. Billed as 27W on eBay but I'm sure they're more than that. They certainly do the job.

Hi

I bought the factory wiring loom kit for both driving lamps and spots , loom was all plug and play after fitting the dashboard switches, which sit in the small cubby hole on the RH side of the dashboard

As mentioned u do indeed have to plug connectors into the fuse box, very straight with the loom as it had all the relays etc built in

In the panel u have a switch so u can the spots come on with high beam or not

Here’s a pic of the fuse box, don’t worry u this was when I replaced my dashboard

Thank you. I already have some driving lamps (round 4" LED ones, said to be 27W but very good) hooked up to the main beam via a usual aftermarket relay. I'll have to Google the wiring loom for fog lights and if it's plug and play it'll solve a lot of things. Sounds like a great way to do it :)
