Looking to fit my diff guards and am a bit stumped as to how to get the front one on. I have the slide on type that clamps onto the diff (http://www.paddockspares.com/pm121-rover-axle-diff-guard.html)
There seems to be what I think is an anti roll bar right in front of the front diff and cant work out how to slide the diff on. Also there doesn't seem to be an easy way to remove this bar without taking off the axle or half the steering bars.
Any clues as to how to get it on?
Thanks in advance

your roll bar is the panhard rod you can unbolt it but make sure truck is sat on level ground as its what limits sideways movement between axle and chassis, you might need someone to push on one side to relocate securing bolt ,if you jack chassis up away from axle you might find it easier

Have you actually tried to fit it or is this just speculation at the moment? I bought the exact diff guard two weeks ago and it fitted no problem. Undo the two bolts supplied with the diff guard, no need to undo them fully, just so the guard can expand a bit. I then greased the inside of the guard a bit as it's quite a tight interference fit. If you lie across the front, in parallel with the axle you can hold the guard mostly in place and give it a few taps with a wooden/rubber mallet which should locate it. Then it's just a case of squeezing a couple of spanners in there to tighten the bolts. I actually went for a spanner on the offside and a socket on the nearside. You can leave the spanner alone as it will tighten up to the roll bar and then just do the rest with the socket. It should be a 10 minute job.
