hi guys i have a v8 110 and i want to replace the standard white steel wheels with alloy wheeels from a range rover classic what needs to be done to get these to fit over the centre hub? any advice on this would be great thx
 
My advice would be not to do it. They int as good, not as strong, look pointlessly bling and get damaged when yer goes off road but cun't be repaired wif a big hammer. Talking from me own egg spear eence, i would change back tomorrah if someone wanted to swap some standard rims with new BFGs on em for me needless bling!
 
lol i could quite agree OD but bling is the name of the game to keep mrs clanger happy.....anything for a for a quiert life
 
I had some on my 90. Bit of a snug fit on the front as it has the old axle on and the back has a disco axle. All you have to think of, will the wheels take the weight ?

In that case sounds like yer need ter drop the clanger!!!:D:D:D

What year is it? I have boost alloys on my 1990 90 and they fitted without any mods but the hub cap has to poke through the hole in the middle, and a 110 has a different axle set up to a 90 - you might need some spacers, buster's the pro on 110 drivetrain set ups and will do you a photo montage on step by step installation for a very reasonable fee

it is a 1986 v8 110 station wagon with what should be a 12 seater but it has had an lpg coversion and 3 seats are taken up with a bloody great gas tank(another problem that needs to be dealt with) mrs clanger and i have 8 kids so we need all the seats we can get.....we had serries 3 109 ex mod ffr some years ago(i loved it it was called Nero but mrs clanger has some very bad memories of nero) the only way i was able to mrs clanger to agree to another landy was to create a bling machine :( (personally i prefer ruff and ready) so any help on bling guys

Some alloys will cover the hubs, steel wheels are thin and will sit right next to the hub, alloys are thicker and will cover the hub up. All you need are the alloy wheel nuts.

sounds good so back to my original question will the alloys from a range rover classic fit?
 
They look exactly like the boosts on mine but i know someone on here had difficulty fitting them to the rear of a 110 for some reason - is there any way you can try before you buy? Whereabouts are you?

and fookernell, 8 kids, that must be some REALLY major clanger yer got there!!!:D:D
 
ive been told the range rover classic wheels wont fit.if i remember rightly summit to do with the rear hubs unless you have discs.i know a bloke in the landy garage has some freestyle alloys on his na 90 and he said he had to grind down the back of the alloy wheel for em to fit,wich bit he grinded i aint sure
 
Nobber knows the answer to this 'un... depends on the year of the defender IIRC. Would make sense if it was the drum braked hub was the problem. Nobber had some alloys with some bits machined out of 'em to make 'em fit any hub. Bet they were fun to balance then... and about as strong as a tissue paper bulkhead ;)
 
and i know one of our local kernow chaps had trouble fitting some alloys to an older depender, but there has ter be a way if yer persevere - although i stand by my initial recommendation of "don't", yer can get some really shiny steels to go on and they are Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better!!!
