Hi guys,
I need to fit a winch to the front of my 1991 200Tdi Discovery!
I could do without spending £200 on a winch bumper if poss!

Does anyone have any ideas? (Welded plates etc?) Any pictures or diagrams would help alot!

Portable winch is the answer - no extra fittings needed. Use from the rear using the 50mm Hayman RTeese towbar hitch or from the front via a tree protector to your front tow hooks

See http://www.4wdworld.com.au/products/portawinch/index.htm for details.

Sorry but this is an Australian company but you may be able to get one shipped or source a similar product in your area. Maybe even make a cradle for a winch to fit on.

Good luck

Thanks for that Stevesub, I've had a look at that website and this could be a worth while option. May have a look at building a cradle like that if I can't mount it on the Discovery without a new bumper.

Anyone else out there with any ideas?
