Evening all.

Just mulling some ideas over a single malt...:)

Has anyone bothered fitting a TD5 Intercooler to a Tdi300? I suspect that pipe work will be a pig but it is worth it? Can the TD5 intercooler really shift more air or cooler it better?

Cheers
Steve

I asked the very same question a while back. cant remember the consensus, but it wasnt worth it. do a search, it might come up. from memory, most folk said, due to the length of pipework involved you would lose performance and there are also mount issues.

To be honest, If it worked, you wouldnt see so many on ebay, and all the replacement jobbies wouldnt be £350+

I dont think the TD5 intercooler is much bigger (if at all) than your tdi one. It is full width but very thin and only about 6 inches deep.
The replacement TD5 ones are more like the engine cooling radiator in size and shape.

I've done this before for a mate that had a range rover/ 90 hybrid, its a pain in the rocks with pipes runing from all angles, you'd be much better off just fitting a stanard or performance intercooler with the pipe in the right place.
