Fitted a NATO hitch to the back of the disco today, wasn't too difficult just had to cut a bit out the back of the bumper. It seems to be the right height so the sankey sits pretty flat. I used a Bracket from yrm, it's meant to be the same as what they put on the camel trophy discovery.

It bolts on where the normal tow hitch goes through the rear of the chassis, so I've still got the normal hitch on too.

Was fairly simple; removed the bumper, undid the bolts to the orrininal tow hitch and then put the mounting plate on, after i made a paper template and cut a hole into the bumper.

Hardest part was to bolt the nato hitch on after the bumper was replaced, had to put a spanner behind and use a rachet on the front. As i realised after that the hitch wouldnt fit through the hole in the bumper.

I gave it a good wire brush down and waxoyled it before putting it all back together.

Cheers, tried to upload a photo with the bumper back on but it wasn't having any of it.
Didn't take long either, longest bit was measuring and cutting the hole in the bumper

Umm, you know that you should only use a rotating hitch with the fixed ring fitted to most widetrack sankeys?

Also, how do you get the pin in and out of that jaw now?

However I like the bracket, looks better than some of the ironmongery you see bolted on back there!

I read that you only needed a rotating hitch if I intended to take it off road which I don't at the moment, I could always change over hitch if I find I do need it to rotate.

In regards to the pin if you mean on my lower hitch, well I can't, but fortunately the other trailer I use is quite small so I am going to drop it down a few holes and it shoul still sit even.

I think the bracket looked good too, defiantly worth searching round to find it, some threads I read on other forums people just bolt the hitch straight to the rear bumper! And I've seen various set ups using box.
