fitted a centre console.

Made this some time ago out of a LHD TD5 centre console. and some stainless steel sheet I had lying around.





And finally got round to fitting it this weekend. Pics are ****ty because it's me mobile phones camera.
First cut the centre of the fascia out so it's flush with the shelf




Then position console and feed all the wires thru the predrilled hole at the back of the console



Then screw console into position and refit front panel.


The storage box will be going If I can find a blanking plate for it. If not I have a some 3mm Ally Plate I will use instead. Then The stereo and CB will be fitted into place.

And the PDA holder will be getting hard wired, instead of running off the fag lighter socket.

looks good mate. like the permenent PDA holder. Hard wired is the way to go hope to do something about my dell soon.

It came with a suction arm and a plastic self adhesive disc for the suction cup to stick to, and a screw on ball joint bracket. I decided on the latter as it's a lot more secure and solid and doesn't bounce about or fall off like a suction mount does.. Even came with an inline fuse holder to allow you to hard wire it.

Something I ought to do soon .. what's the good of Memory Map if the fecker keeps bouncing out.

Rest of it looks nice too ..

Looks pretty tidy there mate, I wouldn't mind doing something like this to mine to hold a headunit and various other buttons and switches.

If you have less time and more £££ you can buy the blanks off ebay or mudstuff and will go striaght onto the old style dash. TD5 dash wont go straight to the older type, you have to do a bit of carefull modifying as pikey has done with his SS sheeting.

Are the angles of the dash behind the console not the same? I thought the only mods you had to make were cutting a slot out of the front and the TD5 console would slide straight in?

If you get a complete td5 dash it will fit but needs a bit of work to get it to fit all I got was the front of the centre console

Problem with the mudstuff ones is they're open at the at the back and if any water comes thru the vent flaps it ****es all over any electrics in there. So I made the rear enclosure so that it completely enclosed everything and made it waterproof by sealing it with silicone sealant.

Going to get some TD5 switches and wire a load of spots And strobes etc to them Going to wire the heated rear window up as well. So that switch will go in there. I'm sure I'll think of something.
