Having very recently had my hippo returned to 4 wheel drive (it was only 2wheel when I bought it in May) I had a day out with EMORC at Stainby, so I decided to have a play and see what it was capable of.
I must say I was extremely impressed, frightened myself a couple of times, slightly redesigned the shape of one sill, and didn't get stuck at all. Had an absolute whale (or should that be hippo?) of a time :)

BTW mine is completely standard, no lift kit or anything, and the tyres are brand new Kingpin AT's which cost 50 quid each, and they performed faultlessly.

Rather than upload here I have provided a link to photobucket for your perusal :)

Hi, great pics.

I have recently bought my first Freelander TD4 and would like to do something like that but am scared to damage it.
:)

Looks brilliant mate, Hippo's will surprise you off road. Just don't take them anywhere with a gritty/sandy soil composition. That murders all sorts on them.

Absolutely. The cam belt suffers big time!
Used correctly they are good off road.
