hi looking to buy a land rover defender for under £2000, been reading advice and forums but getting confused. so far the best iv found for my price is a 1989 2.5 turbo diesel. what i would like to know is what years are good. whats the best engine i can get for my budget. what are common problems to look for and any other good advice, i appreciate all this info is probably on the forum in different places but my head is spinning after spending 2 days reading all different things. thanks in advance. jack

on that budget your better off looking at discos unless youve got overwelming reasons for buying a fender

There are bargains out there and some people do get extremely lucky, but you might want to see if you can increase your budget at bit.
