First time Freelander

Hello all,
My name is danny (user name Dman1) and I have just bought my first freelander. It is a 3dr 2003 td4 manual with a 2ltr diesel.
Having some issues with the locking/alarm, but the knowledge of members has already helped me identify the problem.
Am looking forward to enjoying my car and sharing the joys and tribulations of car ownership!!
Is nice to be back in a land rover again - when I passed my driving test (oh too long ago) the first vehicle I drove was lwb series 2 2 1/4 diesel hardtop land rover - I loved it!!

Hi, td4, nice engine. Drive train will have the usual freelander problems. If you don't take it off road, consider removing the propshaft thus turning it into a 2 wd. This will remove the sticky vcu leading to IRd failure issue. Run your hand over the back tyres looking for uneven wear. They all get it sooner or later and it may sound like a rough rear wheel bearing.
