Hey - i'm both new to the forum and to Land Rovers,
Back from university over the summer, so have decided to restore a '77 series 3 SWB (2.25ltr petrol). Restoration is going well so far, got the old girl stripped down to little more than a rolling chassis - new galvanised bulkhead & chassis have been ordered, along with complete gearbox rebuild. Was wondering about parts though, have just finished re-assembling the brake & clutch assemblies after breaking apart to rub down and spray up, but need a couple of bits- namely the plate that covers the large gap in the footwell for the brake & the gaskets that go between the assembly and footwell / bulkhead (they seemed to be made out of foam? and simply fell apart when taken off). Any help on these would be much appreciated...also need to source a complete new dashboard / consol - any ideas? Live in South Hams Devon (Slapton) so any local breakers / scrap yards known would be very helpful.
If interested I can post photos on here to follow progress of rebuild...
Hi again and Many Thanks,
Matt
