Well started getting into the niggles of the new landy.. passenger side rear door window reg has gone funky but that's easy enough..

The Passenger side front wont unlock on the keyfob or the button does unlock if you pull the handle though.

Also the window will not go down no sounds or anything have swapped switches over and seems to work fine.

So is there anything obvious that I'm missing before i start ordering parts? *edited for terrible spelling*

The springs inside the lock mechs rust & go weak/break also where the locating pins go into the mechs
(blue plugs with holes in them) they wear also giving you unlocking problems.
Morris marina, aleggro & tr7s rrc have the same door handles.
There are spring kits available for them for about a tenner off bgay. Ive done loads they are great fun
to do. Just done a search for you, also vids on ntube to see whats involved in replacing them.

But then as the OP doesn’t state the disco model year and the Avatar shows a D2, my reply would be based on that vehicle, but then as already for the D1 there’s lots of info on the D2 locking is all ready posted on the www,

So Google :D

Handy to know, thanks.

we had a D1 it fell apart having been bodged big style by the Previous owner right down to chassis rails made out of paper mache and wiring so bad it caught fire.

Paper mache ffs they could have at least used fibreglass or cataloy  Hope no one was injured
any pics of the damage nowt worse than shite bodges.

If it locks but doesnt unlock you need a new latch actuator, if it doesnt lock either and you can't hear any activity on fob or switch commands it's possible that the loom is chafed where it passes from the body into the door and the window's circuit to be affected too, happened to me

ended up in the scrapyard in the sky after the 2nd fire. lost interest in land rover for a couple of years after it got royally ripped off :( got a couple of series 109s in bits im slowly pulling out of the undergrowth to sell to hopefully fund this one lol. no paper mache so far and i whaled on it with my big spanner when we went to look at it seems all solid.
