Guys just a few questions about the TD5 -

Is the engine oil volume 7.2 litres including filters being changed?

What is the torque figure for the 2 bolts that hold the rotor filter housing lid on? (heard these are commonly stripped)

Does the TD5 benefit from a flush prior to the new oil going in?

Regards,

Gixer.

Torque table below.

7.2 litres is oil and filter, 8.2 litres is from dry.

They usualy get stripped as you can't see anything and if the cover is not seated correctly you strip at least one of the threads when you tighten bolts up -Like I did:mad:

10n/m for the bolts of the rotor filter, the lid closes onto a rubber seal. NB the holes are not assymetric !!!!

I don't ever use a flushing agent, just get the engine good and warm and then let it drain for at least 30mins to get as much as poss out of it.

When changing the other spin-off engine oil filter, be prepared for spillage as you have to tilt it to get it out.

Use good quality oil to B5, fully synth 5w-30.

Incidently Paddocks do a 4-filter kit for TD5 engines at £16+vat, so you could change the air filter and fuel filter at the same time.
