Hi guys! I'm new to the forum and to RR ownership :)
When using the remote the heater will start up (partially) but does not generate any heat. If I program it with the timer it will work fine. Any clues as to what might be wrong?

Is this supposed to come on to warm the car automatically subject to temperature? If so maybe there is a temp sensor duff in the system.

I know my heater will not come on until the ambient temperature is more than the outside, only then will it start up, maybe yours is the same? this is almost exactly the same as Wam just wrote.... but I thought I would use a lot more words......

On yours heater fans won't come on full blast until coolant temp rises to a certain point. That is controlled by the temp sensor on the metal pipe to the matrix. This is the L322 with the fuel fired pre-heater. Apparently you can switch it on remotely to warm the car for you. That surely must have a temp sensor in the system to control it. If when remotely switched it comes on but does not achieve any appreciable temperature there has to be a temp sensor fault i would think.

Except he said it would run from the timer?

I don't know Keith, maybe you set a max temp on the timer rather than a start temp. Don't have one so don't know. Would need to study the system but have no info on it.
Used to service FBH's on boats, all the ones that ran on diesel were a PITA, the gas ones gave little trouble.
All cars are fitted with a fuel burning heater, it's called an engine. Depending how cold it is, start it 5 or 10 minutes before you go out and all will be warm.

This is true. Some countries may need them, but can't see why they are fitted to cars in this country. It never gets cold enough to need them. But this lad is in Sweden so it possibly is needed at this time of year.

An electric block heater is a better option IMO, that's what we had in Canada and it was good down to minus 50C.
They are going on about diesel emissions, but no particulate filters, catalytic convertors or ADDBLUE on the FBH exhaust and they often smoke, highly polluting, should be banned IMO.

There was a thread recently on FBH not firing, seems there is a temp sensor and an ECU preset to prevent operation above 6 degrees.

Now, lets also ban all domestic oil heating boilers.

The French government have already announced the intention to ban oil fired central heating boilers and the UK government has announced the intention to ban wood burners:eek: I just hope global warming gets here in time to stop me freezing to death.

Load of bollocks to try and combat what is a natural occurrence.

I agree, the government have seen nothing yet with the Gillets Jaune, stop us burning wood or oil in the country where there are no alternatives and there will be full on riots. They want us to install heat pumps, £6K for installation and the electricity supply is far from reliable and very expensive.
I see in the latest cold snap the UK has had to import electricity from France and the Netherlands, so soon electric cars will be banned from re-charging in cold weather:rolleyes:
