I think my temp gauge is playing up tonight it went it to the red so i **** myself stoped turned it off got torch then started it back up and the gauge was back to normal and it was not hot when i looked any ideas??

Water pump? Keep an eye on it. If the pump is dodge you might get a hot spot which dissipates very quickly when the engine is off.

mine did this the other day...ended up being the engine earth strap....has the temp guage been sitting a bit on the high side latley? Lights playing up...bright then dim when reving.....new earth strap on mine and back to normal....shame i changed the water pump before checking it having done a reflex **** my pants senario:doh:

mine used to read correct on idle but dropped to zero when revved fit cappillary one to top hose outlet since then proper one okay

its done it again to night i think it must be the sender cause it goes right up in to the red then i stoped turned it off let the guage drop back to cold then started back up and it was normal again, so new sender needed where abouts is the sender unit ??
