not sure on the 2.5....know TD5 like the back o me hand....pretty easy to find tho...will b close to the motor on the return to the radiator

yip, it will, but not by much, and not anywhere near the red zone. why'nt yu fit a proper temp gauge then yu kin see exactly where ya runnin at. mine runs a good 4mm below halfway, but i have others that run above and they all got the same thermostat

if you fit a more accurate guage you'll find you'll be constantly wondering why it's just gone up by 2 degrees etc etc ......... the standard guage is fine and very reliable but if it does show a slight increase it's normally a sign of something not being quite right such as blocked rad (or partially) air in system etc

the sender isnt a lot of money, replace it and see if the guage reading changes

I've finally diagnosed and fixed the over heating problem :D I took off the coolant "junction" block to fit my new thermostat and I found that the smallest water hole in the block was completely blocked, I wouldn't have even known it was a water channel if it wasn't for a little hole sticking through it. At first I thought that the casting had somehow perished! I unblocked the hole, washed everything free and now it's running at normal temperature! Well, a little over cos of new higher temp thermostat, but all is good!

Thanks for all the help
