fan belt

hello Guys, Ive just been fortunate to have my 2001 diesal freelander serviced at a garage. They said that my fan belt needs changing as it has serious cracks on it. I have had a look in my Haynes manual and i cannot seem to find it in the book, Is it easy to change? Stupid question but is it called something else?

if you aren't capable of finding the section of how to do it in a haynes manual you are better off letting the garage do it

Think u mean the alternator belt or auxiliary belt as it drives a few things like alternator, power steering pump, air con compressor etc etc.

No worries. Had to change my mums on her corsa. U will usually find a tensioner of some sort. There fairly easy to spot as they usually don't have a ribbed pulley wheel unlike a pas pump or alternator. Slap a good spanner and rotate one way or the other. Be carefull though as they may break like my sisters puma one did on me
