Facelift time and new colour!!

Thats why I was thinking of the Anthracite. I had it on an MGF and it just looks black normally, but when the sun hits it...WOW! Never seen a black with so much pearl and metallic in it. Then theres Ferrari Daytona Black.....:confused:

So many blacks, not enough time!

Most 12 year old paint will need a proper detail to bring it back to life. The clearcoat was never designed to take the beating it gets for this long without care.
 
Me too!! That looks a bit yummy. It's pretty much how I want it with the chrome trim inserts on the sides and front bumper.

This is what got me excited....

I just like the way the car and the glass is black, but the bumpers haven't been violated with body colour paintwork. It does mean I'll have to find another front and rear bumper that hasn't been pained though :(

I think the chrome wheels work, but I only want to go to 20", heard some pretty nasty stories about tram-lining on 22's.

Can you get chrome faced stormers?

Dark Blue is the best. Mine is Oxford Blue and I think it's really nice contrast with cream leather. Had black cars in the past and vowed never again due to the fact they show up every imperfection and are a nightmare to keep clean! However, they do look great when polished up :)
 
I love the Oxford Blue colour, problem is that I have black leather interior. I don't know if that would work or not?

I've had black cars before but the amount of clearcoat I'll be putting on this truck it'll take being flatted back several times to keep the condition of the paint good. Plus I'll be detailing it with good quality products to help the paint repel the road crap!
 
TBH, the P38 isn't that great on 20"s let alone anything bigger. I think the stormers are diamond cut so they are pretty 'shiny'.
 
Thanks for the heads up. I guess if there are any suspension issues on 18's they're going to be amplified on anything larger. i'll have to have all my bushes checked...ooooerrrr!! :eek:

Nothing bigger than 18" wheels are homologated on the P38, anything bigger could fail the new MOT never mind the tramlining.

If it's all adopted, cars will have to remain in original condition as far as running gear is concerned. With wheels, you will be able to fit any size that was homologated for the car. I'm not sure if it's going to apply retrospectively or even if the UK will comply and implement the EU standard MOT spec.

Colour choice is a very personal thing. I don't like black, it always looks dirty unless it stays in the garage and it absorbs heat better than any other colour, maybe no problem in the UK but makes the aircon work hard over here:)
I'm no expert on paint, but I do like Anthracite pearlescent.
 
Well as usual with a P38 my aircon doesn't work anyway ;) plus in the UK our summer is three days in April so there isn't much to worry about in that regard.

However I do intend to give this rangey everything it deserves so aircon will be restored eventually.

I think black is my only option after all the other colours I've been through to end up simply, back at the start again!

I do like them in black, they suit the colour and can look very modern by adding a few minor cosmetic bits and bobs. However, I'm going to keep a tally of how many times I'm pulled over in it!
 
I was looking for Dark Blue or Black when I got mine, but this one came up at a good price and although I've never been a great fan of red, I actually like it. LRC601 Rioja Red... (Sorry about the mud)
