Looking to see if anyone has solved the lack of 200tdi defender air intake parts, esp when mating to a snorkel thru the left side wing intake. Specifically parts MWC1826 and 1827, intake louver.

I was thinking of bodging together a small aluminum plate, cut to fit the intake hole, and welding a suitably angled pipe on either side, to allow sealed air flow from snorkel to filter housing. I am using a mantec snorkel on left side on RHD Land Rover 110.

It did occur that someone of far more skill may have done so similarly or know where i can get one.

Appreciate much if anyone can share info or insights.

Regards
Mark

I used a cobbled together sequence of couplings and silicon pipes and a right angle reducer. I doctored the previous brackets so that it clamped in place. All sealed with tiger seal.

And alternative would be as you say a shaped piece with pipe threaded through.

You can also put a k and n on top of snorkel and there is a mushroom fitting you can get to go over that now. That's my eventual plan now. ( less chance of leakage)

why not just fit a 300 tdi safari snorkel and just link it up with some flexi hose?
That's what i plan on doing. should be able to stall my engine from the top of the snorkel when it's done.
