Had to replace the front DS ABS sensor recently. Thought I had performed a wonder by getting the part on ebay for £79 rather than the £220 demanded by local dealer.
Armed with a Haynes manual and a poor intellect I headed out to tackle the job. All will go swimmingly until you try to remove the sensor from the wheel. give it a nudge, a tweak, a poke, a twist. Then recoil in horror as it snaps off in your hand. After ten years of an aluminium sensor inside a copper sleeve inside a wrought iron wheel assembly, yes, fused solid. Two hours with a power drill trying to remove it and I had to admit defeat.
Two hours of garage time to disassemble the front wheel and drill the bleeder out and I'm back with ABS but let this be a warning to others.....
