During my recent barn rummage I came across a mitsi/izzy intercooler with fan...I was wondering would it do any good to link it in line with the stock 'cooler,which I was going to fan with a peugot 205 electric anyway?The immediate downside is that the izzy pipes are 2" or so and the landy more like 3...would the resultant constriction negate the extra cool?Would I be better going back to the routine I used on a volvo petrol turbo intercooler and use two 12" fans,one on constant on the cooler and one on a switch for towing etc?Thres plenty of space on the manual 300 cos its a non air con model.
What does the panel think?Im already doing the EGR blank and de cat on both......:confused:

PS would another 300 cooler added in line have any good effect?
 
Yer dunt wanna be doin anything that restricts the intake air flow.
A bigger intercooler, with bigger airways - yes.
A second intercooler, with the same size or smaller airways - no.
 
and raise the boost as you would have more area to fill....

fit a rs turbo charge cooler.......less room taken, more cooling at any speed, you see the intercooler works better whaen a strong flow of air is moving over it, with a charge cooler its allways a lower ambient, as a landy off road is moving slower......
 
get a major fan on the origional intercooler, flush it out and keep it clean, more boost and fuelling is a must to see the effects.
adding another of the same will do sod all to much atmosphere to fill up and another of the same intercooler wont get the air any cooler to be honest.
its gonna be more of a bhp gain than a torque gain.
 
THANKS ALL!I'll go back to original plan of using izzy cooler as an extra cab heater on the lorry and a pug 205 leccy fan on the stock 300 cooler.

The RS charge cooler sounds good,which RS's had them,how do they work/why and how hard to retro to a 300?

dont want much do I?:D :D
