I understand that pre 2003 versions of my Freelander had a rear fitted 12v power point between the front seats with a ash tray under it. I would like to fit a 12v outlet into what is now a blank plate in the same position.

What I would like to know is if there is pre wiring under the centre arm rest for the adding of a 12v outlet.

Thank You

Frank

On form as always boys!!

Frank, don't know but the best way to find out is to lift the panel and look. Mine is a pre 2003 and has said socket already.

Thank you I did that tonight... but could not feel it (thinking it could be taped up out of the way) as for the fun bit.. trust me I enjoy a bit of banter like the next man but to enjoy it you have to understand it... and as a new member perhaps you should have let me settle in before you posted as you did.. then I could have joined in.

We can't understand their sense of humour either Frank. Basically the tractor boys (the ones who drive other LR models) don't like the Freelander (or Gaylander as they like to call it) and like irritating those that do own them.

Sounds like a NO to your answer about the wiring then. Not surprised really. You could always wire an extension of the lighter socket I suppose.

It is pre wired thank you to those who helped. It is also interesting to note that it is live all the time...
