This is my disco 1997 es , i had a slight prang in it in the ice and door got dented, got hold of another door that was a perfect color match and in fact were so cheap i bought all 4 doors just for spares, but the door mouldings were black with no chrome strip and no coachline, now the afernoons are not as bitter ive been doing a few bits
doors been put on and looks like its the original, the chrome strips were not too good all round and had flaking/perishing, and the door didnt have them..so a few hours graft later the chrome strips and traces of glue are now gone, ive treated all the stips and bumpers with trim wax tio make them nice and black and it looks better for it as theres no iffy bits
now the thin black coachline stripe that goes along the sides just above the grove below the door handles, my mate can put a new bit on the door no problem, but a cple of other parts of it here n there are a bit chipped etc, im wondering weather to just do away with it ?? he said if i did he can easily put a brand new line all round no problem
just wondered what the thoughts on it were and if it will look better with or without it ? should i take the coachline off, or should i keep it and also source some new chrome strips ? or does it not really make any difference ? as im not expirienced with discoverys i thought id ask opinions and see if anyones done it before and regretted it or think it looks better or what
or being the es model, is the chrome signature to that or not ? as ive not got a clue
