Exposed flywheel

Not strictly a V8 question, more a convertion one.

Whilst under my recently aquired 2a lightweight I noticed that I could see the flywheel there does not seem to be a case over it at the bottom. I assume this is not normal?

am i likely to cause this damage?

what to do what to do.

There is a small plate that just bolts/screws on.I have seen them advertised on ebayand at auto jumbles.
Definitetly keeps out all the mud/crud and everything else.

think its part number FRC142 bout 20 quid from rimmers

Search e-bay shops for 'Range Rover Heaven' contact the seller directly, i bought one from him for my motor about 2 weeks ago, £8.50 + £2 postage and it was very shiny . The retaining nuts are M6 x 25 (if i remember right) but there are also 2 self centring jobbies, it's obvious where they go when you get the plate. There's also a rubber seal along the top, mine was so tight a fit I just laced on a load of instant gasket.
