Excessive Play in front Swivel Joint

Afternoon!

Got my hands on a Disco 1 200 TDI. MOT failure as the boot floor is like a sieve (that's a surprise....didn't think that was a common fault! hthmm)
I'm welding it up at the moment but the other problem is that the OSF Swivel Joint has excessive play.
I've driven it a bunch of times and it doesn't feel like it's anything drastic.
Is there anything I can adjust to try and get it through the MOT? Someone mentioned taking some of the shims out and taking care not to over do it. The ball looks good, there's no leaks I can see in the area. I'm not 100% sure what area needs attention!

Any help or a shove in the right direction will be appreciated.

You can try taking shim(s) out from under the top swivel pin.
Just 2 bolts (also holds the brake flexi support bracket), pull the pin out and you will see the shims under it. Remove the thinnest one first and see what that does for you. If there's still too much play, replace the thin one and remove the next one up in thickness.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have a stab at that. Sounds easier than replacing more bits if there's nowt wrong with them.
