Hi I'm new to this forum and being a girl I have very little knowledge on cars, My Freelander Td4 02 auto diesel has developed a problem which is usually on excerlating around corners or roundabouts. Its fine on the straight but un responsive when cornering , this only happens intermittantly and responds when you pump the pedal, any ideas (before I get ripped off by the garage ) as to whats causing this. Its quite scary when when you want to pull out into a main road.

Check yer three inlet turbo rubbers first [three large rubber hoses running from lhs to rhs looking into engine at the front] look for any small holes , if found replace with new ones. . . . .wear propper ppe [stocking un suspenders] high heals and no nickers :):):) :welcome2:

Its worse today lost power pulling out on a main round about nearly $h!t myself and then would only crawl uphill in 10 mph really P!$$ed off as this is supposed to be a replacement car for a Heap of cr@p sold to me just before Xmas. Same dealer (long story)

Sorry forgot to add the car was supposed to have been serviced 4 weeks ago prior to purchase. I think I will ger a cart for my Shire horse, the original 4x4 and drive that to work.;)

hi, just to say i would take it back to the dealer who sold it to you and let him sort it.maybe get your money back.think you might not be far from me,who is the dealer you got it from? tim.

td4s are very reliable however they have problems with fuel pumps

this sounds like a fuel related issue

the have two low pressure pumps, and one high pressure (which never goes wrong)

get a garage to investigate

diagnostics should so a lower pressure of around 300-350Kpa

high pressue in the thousands 6000ish

Took it back to the dealers garage and it was something to do with the air flow mixer thingy (sorry I'm female) and it is fixed for now (fingers crossed) thanks guys for all your advise I'm sure I will need it again in te near future:D
