ex army 109 rear shock absorbers

Hi all my ex military 109s rear shocks are knackered so taken them all off and got a standard set that i have had for a few years RTC4442 and my old shocks are 2 inches longer does that mean i have to get a set of pro comp +2 shocks or can i get away with defender shocks on it (bit rookie really the awnser is obvious but not quite so)

if its std 109 stick with rtc4442

its a ex army 109 with the army 2 inch lift kit
