My 03 auto td5 disco had a dodgy ride height sensor. I fitted two new ones to match the recently fitted susp air bags.

Snag was faulty (but now repaired) side dropped to normal height, the other side which was fine before dropped to the ground - bugger. Vehicle low loaded to nice man with autologic who was able to pump susp up to level and equal heights so i could get home.

Trouble is I still have abs, tc, handbrake lights etc all on in my dash and the sls and ride height button does not work.

The auto logic was indicating abs valve faults but none would clear? Sadly the nice man did not have time to fiddle any further.

Anyone got any ideas on what may be wrong? Can I reset anything without a gizmo? Can I bypass anything?

Susp staying up and level but any ideas on clearing the lights? I will admit to pulling the sls/abs fuse without disconnecting the battery (doh). Have I blown or damaged somat?

Its a seven seater so I dont want to have the insurance hassles etc by going to coils. As soon as the lights are off I'm selling it and going to stick with my trusty 300tdi. It's well tweaked but never goes wrong, apart from being old, smelly, rusty, vibrates, shakes, sqeaks and generally an old dog - bloody good though.

Cos there are faults an both systems(ABS and SLS) and u cant erase the fault codes neither i suppose that your SLABS ECU is faulty, it was some problems with this sometimes(see bulletin): http://www.landroverclubvi.com/uploads/2/3/9/8/2398536/slabs_ecu_replacement_sec.pdf

Thanks for the link but looking it appears thats that the doc was released in 02 so presumably for vehicles before that? Mine's an 03.

Weirdest thing is I have never had any sls/abs/tc/hdc issues before this ride height sensor issue.

How people take a D2 to morroco etc without a support truck to match a dakar entry I do not know.

Thats what is eldritch to me too...that u have sls and abs probs at the same time...the systems are connected only through the SLABS ECU...are u sure that the fuse which is feeding the SLABS(F11 which i suppose u took out) is making good contact?

Check fusible link FL9 and the SLABS relay(R5) in the engine bay too.

In my experience (plenty!) I would suggest that you've got a leaking air spring, the valve fault on Autologic will come up when for example the compressor has tripped thermally. See if you can get it into xtended ride height, then spray with soapy water on the stress points.

Compressor works fine, bags not leaking as new and so far the vehicle has not dropped at all from saturday. I pulled fuse 28 (i think). Since then I have checked all of these in this area (battery disconnected this time).

Could it simply be loads of faults logged from me pulling fuses before with the battery connected? Therefore it could be a case of just re setting each one until all cleared? My hope would then be the lights go out and the dash button to raise and lower would work again?

U better do what Mr. Panzer said...plug it in, read then clear all faults. If the ABS will give u shuttle valve fault this one will come back untill u refurbish/replace the modulator.
