Have a look at Rave there is something in service sheets about a bad connection on a plug that can cause the book error message to appear.

Open Book symbol generally means a problem with the blend motor/s, or a problem with the HEVAC unit itself, not the fuses. It can also pop up if the gas level in the system is low. You need the diagnostics read with Faultmate / Rovacom or similar to really know. The HEVAC head unit is expensive new, only buy from known good source if buying secondhand, its the easiest to swop out and try. You can also have the aircon gas levels checked and redone at places like Kwikfit for about £50. Blends are trickier but Gavbriggs and others on here have changed theirs via a workaround. Stealers will charge over £1000 to change them so avoid at all costs!!!

Open Book = most common aircon display icon!!!!! P38 aircons are very efficient but also very finicky to maintain!!!!

Just found a cure for my aircon/ heating which has gone all summer with the passenger side blend motor stuck in one position. It's called winter!, came out to car at 05.00 the other day and 2C, after driving for a little while, noticed dreaded open book symbol had disappeared from display, and yes the passenger side vents would give off cold air when I pressed blue and hot air when I pressed red.

I'm not very hopeful that this will be a permanent fix, as this blender motor has had an intermittent fault for more than a year.

first check everything works.
windscreen, face and feet all blow as they should. ac works, hot and cold air work fine on both sides, and the fan works.

if something doesnt work then that why your book is there.
