Hello from Bulgaria.
I have a problem with my Discovery. The engine works perfectly, but it writes the error in the computer

I have installed a chip, but the errors are also recorded with the original software. Egr is not a problem. I would be grateful if you help.
 
Hi, some questions to clarify:
1. what kind of tester was used?
2. are those warning lamps on? ...if not can you see them on ignition self test?
3. is the vehicle manual or auto?

1 I used Launch easydiag.
2 yes, I see the warning lights on when ignition on, and in a forced test.
3 manual gearbox.
 
Then IMO you have no problem, those fault codes are most probably false cos the launch is not compatible with the Td5 engine even if they say it is cos it's OBDII protocol which interprets wrong the Td5 ECU's signals, for example the CAN message is exclusivley for those fitted with auto gearbox and if the others were real you should have got the warning lights on while driving. I'm almost sure that if you plug in a dedicated tester and clear the ECU memory from hystorical codes the only one you'll get is the EGR one(presuming it's blanked)
 
Launch works correctly. Two more Discovery 2 were tested and there are no mistakes. On my disco, I coded the air suspension to springs. I will try another, tnx.
 
How do you explain that it gives you CAN fault code on a manual vehicle then?... and warning lamp codes with correctly working warnings?

I've had 3 cases of guys with launch who came to me to plug in my dedicated tools and i can tell you that it's not 100% accurate, it might have lucky hits in some cases but it's a lottery especially in the engine management area, in the ABS side it works but has some lacks as well... believe me or not

Those other two Discovery's, they weren't V8's by any chance?
The problems with the diagnostics protocols applied to the diesel D2 but the petrol Disco had been OBDII compatible since the Mid 1990's.
