Erratic Idling !!!

Have exactly this problem with a 2005 Td4 Adventurer with 80K miles. Never fails to start and can run ok every day for weeks but will then start idling erratically to the point of stalling and run roughly at cruise speeds.
Two LR specialist garages have failed to diagnose the problem with Autologic. Injector leak off test ok and diesel system cleaner added.
Question is, if the problem is the high pressure sensor wiring loom, would that show on diagnostics ?

That's the problem with mechanics these days - their YTS schemes consist of plugging in a computer and replacing the bits the computer says is wrong. If the computer can't find it - you might as well ask their nanas! At least you didn't give them a £1K to play pot-luck with.

I don't know the TD4 but electrical problems sometimes can be detected by the ECU and other times not. It definitely sounds like an electrical issue - maybe in the loom, maybe a crank sensor beginning to fail.

also sounds symptomatic of a sticky egr valve .. .. i.e. if it's not been 'deleted' ..
