I got a rangie EAS compressor which I want to use as, erm, an on-board air compressor - what else do i need to get it to work? got my tank and gauges and valves etc. Is it just a case of supplying power, or is there any feedback stuff I need to sort out, overpressure, overheat, timer, etc?

30 amp relay from a 30 amp fused supply. Supply to Green wire on compressor ground to black. Switch to pull relay from any power source through relay to ground. Earthing relay pull circuit through Orange wire on compressor MAY give you overheat cut off. But i am not sure if thermal switch can carry 12 volts it maybe just a low voltage signal. Pressure gauge on tank, depending on size of tank don't run compressor for more than ten minutes without letting it cool if the thermal circuit doesn't work. Running it at 100 PSI max would enhance it's life considerably. Making it fully automatic may take a little more work.

thanks. :)
could the power to relay come from tank pressure switch, so it cuts out when reaches pre-determined pressure (100PSI)?

I suppose so, earthing relay pull circuit through make or break pressure switch should do that. Any make or break switch should be able to handle pull current. Although if you did that you could not use the thermal cut off in compressor as it is grounded by compressor ground for power circuit.

Another thought you could use series wired power relays, one pulled by the thermal switch for overheat protection. And one pulled by the tank pressure switch. They would both be need to be made to power compressor. A switch on pull supply to either would then turn compressor on or off as needed. Should then run automatically when switched on controlled by pressure switch with overheat protection thrown in.
