Hello all,
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated with the fault I’m experiencing. The frustrating thing is I don’t understand why my EPB module is Dong what it’s doing and I’m left confused and rather annoyed!
Following replacement of rear brake discs, pads and shoes, using the bible to make sure they are adjusted correctly. I got in the car and started the sequence to commence the bedding in process. The car instantly came up with “Park Brake Off Lift Switch To Apply” on the dash and showed fault code C1 A43-67, Motor supply circuit.
The EPB module also started making a clicking sound, not the almost expected whirring indicating broken gears.
I have since done/learnt the following:
-When driving and applying the parking brake, it apples perfectly fine and brings the car to a stop.its only when stationary it just clicks and doesn’t apply.
- Readjusted the brakes, motor still clicking.
- Completely readjusted the brakes, motor still slicking.
- Removed the cover to the EPB module, when the handbrake is applied, the motor actually unwinds, causing the clicking sound, so the motor is actually turning the wrong way.
-Put power to the motor directly from the battery and the motor turns and winds the mechanism the correct way applying the handbrake.
- When I pulled the hand brake switch up again, you hear it unwind and starts clicking agai, where is it’s trying to turn the wrong way.
Again when you drive the car the hand brake applies correctly, very confused and any light any of you can shed on this will be greatly appreciated.
