evening all, I know what oil goes in an R380 box but if someone was to be a complete c**t and put EP90 in an R380 box what symptoms would it produce?

It would be the stiffest gear change you ever tried to make and it gets really hot really fast.

I know someone that did that to a reconditioned 5-speed box on a Mk2 Granada despite the sticker on it specifying ATF. (No, it wasn't me!)
Gearbox self destructed - we think the bearings went due to lack of lubrication but it looked like a grenade had gone off inside it - within the year & the customer wasn't happy when told the warranty wasn't going to cover it. The ATF warning sticker was still on it.....

why do you ask...?
Symptoms as above - damage to the synchro would concern me most, closely followed by bearings .... doubt it'd end well....
Change it ASAP, flush at least twice with ATF .... then fill with your choice of ATF or MTF and carry on ....

Long story, however all is good and I still had MTF in it
