Disco 2 Engine

Now at the point of wanting to burn my td5 disco,changed everything on the water side,it gurgles in the heater matrix,it is throwing water out from the expansion tank overflow pipe,just been round europe draggi g a wobble box and it threw about .5 litre over a few thousand miles,yesterday threw 1 litre out on a 10 mile trip.Do I bite the bullet and put an other engine in or sell.

Did you put a new tank cap and tighten it well? if yes you might escape only with a head gasket but if you get there anyway make a pressure test for the head to rule out a leak... in the worst case you need only a head not the whole engine

It has had new cap,bottle,head skim,rad,pump,thermostat,even tried bypassing heater,head was pressure tested at line pressure(140psi plus) and at 75 degrees new headbolts.

It's important for the cap to be tigtened to maximum...the system was bled well i mean tank lifted above the bleed hole?

just a thought, check the two o-ring seals are in place on the cap. if the bottom one is missing or split, it will chuck out coolant as you say. ( it happened to mine after my head gasket was done) other than that, it sounds head related but you have done everything so it doesn't make sense!

Re bled cap on tight and all o rings present inc coolest
