Im looking for some advice please, I have a 3.0 td6 l322 on a 53 plate
the engine stalled at the traffic lights, I switched it off and restarted it , it seems to lose power then stalled again and wouldn't start after the AA visited twice they told me it was the fuel pump (in tank).i changed the battery as they said it was faulty and am looking for some advice before i send it to the garage for repair.

many thanks

Sounds like the fuel pump to me. Check your fuel pressure. I'm not sure how you do it on the diesel as I have a v8.
But there's loads of info on it

Infact. Your title sais it won't 'turn over' if it was the fuel pump it would still attemp to turn over. Just not fire.

What is actually happening when you turn the key?

it actually does try and turn over on occassion it starts for a minute maybe less
then shuts off ,i read its most likely the fuel pump outside the tank ? a common fault.

Yes a common fault.
I have just done mine, saintv8 did his not long ago but were both v8 and I think 2.0hippo did his, he is a td6

Ah that thing, experience, or Santa brought you all new Crystal ball's:)

The TD6 has 3 fuel pumps...

One in the Tank - the Lift Pump
One on the outside of the tank - the Secondary Pump
And one on the Engine - the High Pressure Delivery pump

The most common to fail is the one of the outside of the tank and is simple to replace....

The next most common is the in tank pump....

Get an assistant to turn the ignition on while you listen under the tank on the passenger side for the sound of the pump whirring.

Also check the fuel pump relay and fuse in the rear RH quarter fuse panel.
