Dash won’t light up and engine won’t crank any ideas? Satnav and radio come on but non of the gauges or warning lights. On holiday so I have no manual and only basic tools

Try a hard reset.
And check the electrical connections to the left of the glove box, where the CJB is located.

How do I do a hard reset?

Disconnect the battery leads and join them together for a few minutes.

This will drain down any capacitors, so the vehicle systems will start afresh.

Where are you on holiday? It might be worth asking in the relevant section for help in the area you are.

I am in Anglesey. Have just had green flag out to it but as the dashboard wouldn’t power up he so could not plug in his reader. Will have a good read at the schematics tonight then ring around see if there is any good auto electricians around.

Solved. Me and you tube fixed it. Steering lock was jammed. When you put the key fob into the dock the steering lock has to release to turn off the immobiliser so until the steering lock comes off no point in going any further.

Did it not give any indication that there was a problem with the steering lock?

When you put the key fob in. Until you press the start button the only module that is available is the steering lock which apparently needs a special reader to access it. The steering lock turns off the immobiliser and allows you to press the start button to turn on the ign relay. Once that is on the rest of the modules become available.

Great to here you got sorted from where did you get the reader, while you are on holiday
