Hi chaps had a play with free lander at the weekend, as it seems rather slow in the performance department I thought I would advance the pump timing by half a tooth. While I was at it I decided to check the number 1 injector with a multi meter. I was getting different readings depending on where the cable was positioned in relation to the injector body.I decided to strap the lead to the injector body where the measured resistance was at it's lowest reading.
The engine started immediately when the key was turned, so far so good.while driving after a short time the check engine light is now illuminating intermittently. If I release the accelerator pedal the light goes out straight away? then as I continue it returns.
Do you guys think the issue is to do with the pump timing or an issue with the injector.
Prior to messing about with it no light came on while driving, at the moment it definitely has more go though.
Thanks.

Must be the L series as the TD4 doesn't have pump timing, personally I'd put it back the way it was and just accept that its the L series and not a TD4.

What do you mean:confused:

I think I read recently a similar problem . The guy whipped out the fuel sender (under the O/S rear passenger seat ) and found it was full of crap .

Thats what I meant . It was just a suggestion , and worth checking because it costs nothing (unless the rubber seal is damaged or youbreak something)

Never done one on a FL but there's usually a nylon/plastic filter on the end of the pick up pipe in the tank that stops the crap, just needs washing out (usually)

Sent from my IPad whilst on holiday in Orlando, how keen am I (or sad)
