engine transplant

hi,
does anyone know if the jaguar v8 engines ,4.0 or 4.4 have ever been transplanted in a discovery 2 v8 auto.
i was wondering if the auto box bellhousings were the same or interchangable,
just a thought

In the meantime I have always been a V8 fan but have an oil burner for simplicity and running cost.

Eventually it will have a V8 and to that end i originally thought of the supercharged XJR lump. That was until I found that Nissan did an all ally V8 for the american market. Many people race them straight from the crate and they make nearly 400HP in standard trim.
