Looking at a 1986 (D) 90 which has a 2.5 N/A engine.

Can someone tell me, is the gearbox in this vehicle the same type that is fitted to the newer factory built 200tdi 90's/Defenders?

Also, will a 200tdi drop straight in? ie are engine mounting points on the chassis in the correct place?

And yes, I should have searched just thought it would be quicker if someone answered.
 
How can waiting for somebody to reply to a thread (16 mins by my count) be quicker than typing in 200tdi replacment into the search ox, and clicking on search ? :D
 
Well, I thought if I asked the question, went for a shower, made me dinner I would come back to an answer. It's not as if I was sat here pressing the refresh button every 5 seconds. :D

Defender 200tdi? or disco 200tdi? Either should be an easy fit...just a few alterations if the disco version:

...only coz time is an expensive commodity in Aberdeen....:D
 
Mr P if you cant even be arsed doing a search on the topic then how on earth are you going to find the time/effort/energy to even start such a project????

Which while we're on the subject how did you get the status of being a 'senior member' if you dont even know the most commonly discussed posts on the forum?
