just a quick question for you guys:) i have a k reg 2.5 td discovery thats smoking on tickover and building up a fair pressure in the breather system which is blowing oil into the air filter ..... the engine has done 97000 miles . ive just layed my hands on another disco and the plan was to swop engines ....... my only problem i can see is cant seem to get at the bellhousing nuts that secure the engine to gearbox....:( the ones down the sides are fine but not sure if there are any at the top behind the head? if there are do you guys have any tricks at getting at them? had thought about takin engine and box out together !!! but i thought would ask you guys first:):):) thanks guys

someone will correct me if im wrong but when i did mine i droped the gearbox down to get to them then bolted gearbox back up and removed engine

thanks dave thats what i thought about doing.... the other plan was to take engine off the mounts and let the motor drop forward abit whilste still on the engine lift.... then undo the top nuts lift motor up a bit and undo side nuts but wasnt sure that the motor would tilt far enough forward for me to get at them .... the other plan was to remove engine and box together but not sure if gear box would clear the ground when tilt the engine back to lift out ov the bay.....my main problem is that will b doing the job solo so need to have a plan before start job:):) as the sayin goes the 6 ps perfect planning prevents **** pore performance :):)
