Please can anyone help....
Disco 1 1998 V8 3.9 with single point LPG system.
New Disrtibutor & leads one year ago, New coil fitted recently during the problem. Spider bypass already fitted years ago.

Engine starts and runs fine for 15 minutes then just dies, If I wait from 10 minutes to 1 Hour then it will start again and either run for 1-2 minutes or another 15 minutes.

Thank You.

Tim

Suspect ignition amplifier by coil, they were moved from distributor to near radiator for heat issues and cause multiple weird faults. Last time I bought one £15 ish

The system does not use a normal amplifier, it has a Power amp (no markings on it) mounted next to the coil, does this make a difference or do you think it is still the his amp?

Show me a picture if it is lucas amp with factory relocation kit they still play up.

also if the amplifier isn't switching correctly-the ecu sometimes thinks enging not running and cuts fuel

I have just disconnected the Amp in the picture and put the amp that came with the distributor, engine does not fire....

Haven't seen that type before also does it cut out if you leave fuel cap off?

Brought the Landy about 3 years ago like that... no other signs of fire.
Been running fine since I brought it.

From cold she runs for 15 minutes, when semi warm she runs for 10, takes about 1 hour to restart.

If I put ignition on I have 12V on the coil but she does not fire.
Have taken off heat senors by the distributor and same issue.

To fire the pickup in distributor creates trigger signal, the amp briefly cuts power to coil to create a spark.
The earth switched signal is sent to ecu for run control
