Engine remove help

Hi I have a l322 3 L diesel BMW engine that's done for and I can get a full engine for £250 so was going to buy it and fit it to sort her out I am just wondering can I take it out with a crane and can I get it out without taken the gearbox out I have done lots of jdm cars and Fords but not a range rover

I've not done that engine change myself, but they're all much of a much-ness. They'll either come out with the box, or they won't. I prefer to remove an engine and box as a unit, as it's easier to line them up put of the confines of the engine bay, but that's not always possible.

Try it with the box attached and if that doesn't work, remove the engine from the box and do it that way.

Not sure about an RR but have seen them in D3's
