Engine pre heater for LPG

Depending on you system, you should be able to start on gas for those short trips. My sequential system starts on gas by holding down the change over button as soon as you switch the ignition on. Other systems may be different though.

I have a single point system on my p38, leonardo i think.

if you have the rocker switch with lpg on one side and petrol on the other,

It can be started on lpg, with ignition on before starting, flick the switch form gas to petrol and quickly back to gas, the gas led should stay on and then start the car.

the car should run, but you may find the vapourisor will freeze, especially in the cold weather at the moment.

I have been thinking the same for my car, not that i do short journey's, just for a quicker warm up.

will see if any one else can help.

I don't konow if Gavbriggs has a preheater on his, he has something written after his postings

i do, but with issues, i am awaiting a delivery and hopefully it will be up and running.

in summer i run totally on gas, obviously in winter the car has to be warm but 30 degrees should be enough to stop the vap freezing, probably less. 10 degs should be ample!

have a look for one from a rover 75 in the scrappy, you can get them cheap enough. you can wire in a timer, about 50 quid, and a remote about 3 quid.

there are a few things to consider and a few bits of pipes, bracket, exhaust but i would say less that 200 quid should see the job done!

don't just go out and buy one (as i did) without a bit of research first. let me know if its something you are seriously considering and i can help out a bit more.

also on some omega diesels there is an eberspoacher model. about 3kw ( mines webasto 5kw) which should be fine for warming the vap.

loads of car ave em if you know where to look. but there are some issues with em and you can get stung a bit if your not careful!

Sounds like some thing i would be interested in doing, is there any chance you and post a list of the parts you used.
I would not have a problem putting it all together, just sorcing the parts, never thought of looking on a rover, like you say its knowing what cars have what on them and available.
What problems are you having.
