Engine overrun

Hi
On the way to a recent camping trip the turbo on my discovery 2 decided to give up. After rolling to a stop and a lot of swearing I tried the engine, it reved like mad and black smoke billowed, took the key out and it carried on running so had to stall the engine.
After waiting for the AA to rescue me and the engine to cool down a bit he disconnected the turbo hose and fired the engine up. Needless to say it was missing like crazy. So my question is what’s the possible damage and possible reason for misfiring.? Don’t mind fitting new turbo myself, but need to know what might be going on inside.

It could be a lot worse. It could be as rude as expecting strangers to help you without so much as a please or thank you.

Don’t be so bloody rude to @gold rover who is one of our wonderful lady members , learn some bloody manners

Thanks Gary, for being a gent, as always,but it shouldn't matter which sex the member he was rude to is. Rude is rude, and considering his first post ,rude is to be expected. Some people aren't worth getting stressed about. He's obviously unhappy about being shown how rude he was , and couldn't work out a way to save face. It's all good . He's on the naughty step, but I did leave Donald Trump mask for him

On a pleasanter note , hope you and Candy are good

Lol, just winds me up when basic manners are never used, indeed wouldn’t go up to a stranger and speak to them the same way or u would likely get a fat lip , lol,

Just a basic please and thank u when asking for help as we all know goes along way

I never bite but this was a step to far and I’m putting my foot down with a firm hand , lol

I'm sure he didn't mean to be impolite really, and if we met him he would be as nice as can be.
Just "focused" on his problem is all. It's not an uncommon thing when people are in trouble.
Hopefully we can get past it and get him sorted.

Hmmmm the beef chews sound a bit like Meg's latest trick. Decided to see if she could be left ,for more than 10 minutes. Put her in the hall, came back, all looked good, until I noticed one of bedroom doors open. The one where her food was. Ohhhhhh had she had a feast! For the next 2 days i was lifting 2 and 3 bags , every time we went out. At least she's not looking so skinny now
