Hey there!

Iv just bought a disco 200tdi to go in me 90 and just wanted to find out a bit more about it!

I know the mileage of it but dont know how old it is or what disco it came from?

I have the engine number, but is there a website out there that will give me the details?

Cheers, scott:)

Hense my initial question! 'Wanting to know a bit more about my engine'

So much for the silly sarcastic comments! :)

Just wondered if anyone knew a way of finding out more details of an engine by the 'engine number' and posibly if theres a website where i could look up my chassis number to see how things started out with my landy (Ex military) so its a bit harder to trace it origin?

Cheers for any genuine help, Scott

Tosser! How is asking why you want to know a silly sarcastic comment? If you tell me why you want to know (or what further info you actually want from your engine) it would help. However, **** OFF silly tw4t!

what a cock. I'm angry now!

No one's being much help  I'd suggest that you call the DVLA and when you eventually manage to get through to an English speaking, or at least a British person who can half speak their own language, ask them if they can help you find out any details relating to an engine with engine code whatever. I don't know whether or not they will be any help. Your log book should state the engine code or number, therefore they SHOULD have a copy of it on their systems that they can match to the vehicle that it came from. DVLA do not however, claim to keep any record of mileage, which is total bollocks. They wouldn't help me out with a mileage issue, they passed me on to another organisation who never got back to me. If that fails, try google, I've just had a brief look but nothing blatantly obvious sprung up. I'm sure the police might be able to match that stuff too, do you have a friend / relative who's in the plod?

Cheers for that POS will give that a go! Tried loadsa places on google till me eyes went daft!

Sorry if iv offended you Odenne, however it doesnt excuse the colourful language now does it you nasty little angry C**T.....:blabla:

DVLA don't keep the mileage unless you are stupid enough to enter the milage into the box on the V5 when you send it in.

If you can trace the engine to the Disco it came from, you can get if you are lucky get the MOT details and find out how many it had done at it's last MOT.

To be honest there is little chance of you getting ANY of this information from anyone. If I randomly called with an engine number they are not going to access someone elses details. If you could, next you would be able to call them up and go where does FH55 GHY (<-- made up at random) live, so I can bash him for cutting me up at that junction last week.
