Engine number identification?! Where?!

Hi all,

Have just bought a v8 hybrid and trying to find the engine number to help clear up a few issues.

Ive looked in ALL of the usual places and can’t find it, unless it one of the below? Can anyone help me please!

Yeah apparently the last owner had it “tuned”. Is there a way to identify if it’s. 3.5 or 3.9/4.0 etc? I want to find out for carb/fueling purposes. Thank you

Early blocks have the number on the block at the rear of the nearside head on the bellhousing flange.
Breakdown of engine numbers here - although unless the previous owner can tell you what's been done to it God knows what could have been used inside your engine.

Top pic is in the right place...bottom pic is a casting number will photo what a number should look like tomorrow and post as I have correct matching numbers...yours is a hybrid vehicle engine could even be from a P5\6B Rover...

Be good to see a picture of the whole engine. May help, but many of the bits can be swapped/changed/upgraded so may still be hard to tell. Mine off a P6B auto and the dizzy has 1971 stamped on it.
