engine number change 3 to 5 bearing

I've found a 5 bearing 2,25 petrol engine for my Series 3 rebuild.

Before parting with my cash how can I verify it really is a 5-bearing engine? does anyone know the engine numbers at the changeover? any visual changes between engines?

just above the sump the bottom of block 3 bearing has a smooth channel ,5 bearing cross hatch cast

The engine serial and suffix can tell, they have a red color or take a look at this for a visual.
