Replacing the IRD has been a bit simpler. . Its now in, after being charged two value added taxes by the Commonwealth. One in the UK, the other in Australia. Which, is criminal in my opinion. God, Tax the Queen !

So erm, having a bit of confusion with replacing the drivers side engine/IRD bracket. There seems to be two reduntant bolt holes on the engine sump, where the bracket is to be bolted . . . Very unusual. Confirmation here would be appreciated, otherwise. . .I'm lost for making sense of these bolt holes.

All the best Lads.

Any questions regarding IRD unit I can help to answer, I have a fully dissasembled second hander in my backyard.

Well done Yanick.

Can you see any bearing numbers?

The two holes in the sump are universal to the Rover/MG/Lotus cars which use the two holes for their engine mounts ;)

So they aren't used ?

Lets take the thread back to my original one Transfer Box. I intend to rebuild my older IRD. It only required a single bearing replacement after all this halabaloo. I probably would have saved myself allot of money by replacing this bearing single handedly.
